EIBTM. A one night stay or long-term relationship? When “flirting” with someone, we usually are very quick to project an image on how we would like us to be perceived by the person we are trying to seduce. Showing our bright side, using charm, being handsome and generous is part of the seduction game. Once we cause the expected attraction and succeed in dating the other person the truth will be revealed. Do we stick to all we have said and the promises we have made? Do you have an empty side of your bed the morning after or is there somebody waking up next to you?

Or in other words, one of the big challenges today is to provide clients with that little added value which makes the difference between us and our competitors and one of the key elements that may lead into a long-term business relationship is to always provide or exceed what has been promised leaving no space for “unwanted surprises”. Finance is an increasingly important issue in conference organisation and very often we are asked to provide a budget in the bidding stage. How incisive are budgets in the decision making process and how accurate are preliminary budgets at such an early stage?
