Australia. Perth has been successful in securing a large Taiwanese corporate incentive travel group later this year that will deliver a 1.15 m Euros bonanza for the local economy. The Perth Convention Bureau presented the successful bid, beating off competition from Cairns in Queensland. The Bureau’s Managing Director Christine Mclean said that a total of 700 delegates would visit Perth in staggered groups in October and November, each staying six nights. “This is a wonderful win for Western Australia and represents the kind of high yield business that is a key focus of our Tourism Minister in the wake of the global economic slowdown,” she added.
Jeremey Murray is new to the Bureau as Accountant and Company Secretary.   Mr Murray, who holds an MBA from the University of Western Australia, joins the Bureau from the Home Building Society where he held the position of Securities Officer. www.pcb.com.au
