Hamburg. UFI, the Union of Fairs International, has opened the registration for its Sustainable Development Focus Meeting in Hamburg. The UFI Open Seminar from 18 to 21 Juni at Hamburg Messe will focus on „Winning strategies for Sustainable Development“. It will be opened by the Chair of the UFI Sustainable Development Committee, Michael Duck, and Secretary Christian Druart. After some general facts about sustainable development in the exhibition industry, they will also provide a brief overview of UFI’s actions in this field, which include the promotion of the ISO & GRI international frameworks and the development of an educational tool.
Examples of best practices are given among others from Denise Capello, Business Development Manager, Amsterdam RAI (Netherlands). Denise will explain why and how “sustainable results” is now an official corporate core value. In 2008 Amsterdam RAI set its sights on becoming a leading venue in the field of sustainability.
