Melbourne. Australia’s most innovative business leaders will come together at Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) for the inaugural Future of Work conference and first official paperless event ever held at the venue. Delegates will examine and develop ways to ‘future proof’ Australian businesses via their laptops, tablets and smartphones. Beanbag chairs and CISCO TelePresence speakers will also be unique event features, reflective of the way workplaces are changing and adapting.
Run by the Centre for Workplace Leadership at the University of Melbourne, the conference will share ideas to help build capability, increase productivity and boost profits by giving attendees access to cutting edge technology, research and thinking on the modern workplace and beyond. MCEC’s Club Melbourne Ambassador Program is a Future of Work event partner. Ambassador Professor David Shallcross, who is also a leading researcher at the Centre for Workplace Leadership, will present an insightful conference session on the latest technology including 3D printing and virtual environments.
“As an engineer I bring to the Centre a different perspective from my colleagues from business and economic backgrounds. I’ll be looking at some of the new technologies and workplace innovations transforming the way workplaces operate,” Professor Shallcross said. Future of Work event organiser Phillipa Ross said she was confident in delivering a great event thanks to MCEC’s technology capabilities, which includes the recent unveiling of the venue’s Visualisation Studio where customers can view a 3D representation of their event.

Future of Work: People, Place, Technology is a two-day conference held from Wednesday 9 to Thursday 10 April 2014.
