London. The global DMC association World of DMCs has appointed Azimuth Marketing Communications to raise its profile and highlight the quality and service level offered by its’ members. Throughout 2014, the World of DMCs will increase its presence at Meeting industry events, create educational sessions for use at events and strengthen its ties with the industry in order to reach its goal of becoming the preeminent Association of DMCs. This move is aimed at highlighting the important role DMCs have in adding value to the management of events and will be targeting meeting planners and incentive organizers managing events in any of the 60 destinations represented by its members.

World of DMCs was founded in 2007 and have recently adopted new membership criteria to ensure that all of its members conform to the strict membership policy laid out by the Association of Destination Management Executives International (ADMEI). This means that in future, all members will need to hold a minimum of $1M insurance for events, be members of their local CVB or tourist board, have been working in the DMC sector for over 2 years. Members will also be required to provide trade references from clients outlining the services they received.

Marc Schwabach, DMCP, President of the World of DMCs and CEO of Ambiance Incentives Spain says “Whilst we continue to see increased commoditization in the Global MICE industry, we also hear that our DMCs make the difference in clients’ events through good local management and service. It is increasingly important for DMCs to show that they are not only destinations champions but management champions as well.”

The move also coincides with the appointment of Victoria Veiga as Office Manager based in the secretariat in Barcelona.
