Aiming to contribute to the promotion of tourism and the MICE industry in Yokohama and to the further revitalisation of the waterfront area of the Japanese city, Yokohama Chinatown Development Association and the Pacific Convention Plaza Yokohama, Pacifico Yokohama, concluded a comprehensive partnership agreement on collaboration in February. Through this, they aim to attract more visitors from Japan and overseas, promoting the development of an environment that welcomes tourism and MICE.

According to a press release, the agreement will involve planning of special tourism packages targeting visitors to Pacifico Yokohama to enjoy Yokohama Chinatown to the fullest, event collaboration, the creation of opportunities to share various local issues and exchange with local residents and activities, and mutual cooperation in PR activities.

With this partnership agreement, Yokohama Chinatown, which is said to be Yokohama’s largest tourist attraction with more than 20 million annual visitors, and Pacifico Yokohama, one of the largest MICE complexes in Japan, which attracts a large number of visitors from Japan and overseas, will strengthen their mutual partnership with the aim of restoring the local economy and further revitalizing regional cooperation.
