The Prague Convention Bureau, in cooperation with representatives of the City of Prague and the Ministry of Regional Development, has recognised leading experts for their role in bringing international congresses to the Czech capital. Professor Jiří Drahoš, President of the Czech Society of Chemical Engineering and First Vice-President of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, was among six individuals honoured at the Ambassador Awards Evening held on 29 April 2026 at the Residence of the Mayor of Prague. The awards are presented annually by an independent committee representing tourism, academia and industry.
Ambassador Awards highlight impact of international congresses
The Long-Term Contribution to the Meetings Industry award acknowledges Drahoš’s sustained involvement in scientific collaboration and congress development. His work includes leadership roles within the European Federation of Chemical Engineering and long-standing involvement with the CHISA congress. He has also contributed to Prague’s successful bid to host the World Congress of Chemical Engineering in 2029.
